Runcorn Garden Studio - Home working

Today we received an update from Angie Atherton who we installed a garden office for in September of 2012 which reads as follows:

Hi Fraser

Sorry it has taken us so long to send you a picture of the cabin you fitted in Sept 2012 but we literally only just finished the path and tidied up the garden etc so you can see it in all its glory!

We used Concord Grape for the main Cabin and Super White Satin for the window and door frames.
The interior is painted with antique ivory.

Attached is an outside view and a couple of interior shots, one of the consultation area for my brides and the other of the display area - we are so pleased with everything.

I am now working from home and couldnt be happier!

Kindest Regards

Angie Atherton

The weather that wasn't the best! With flooding across vast parts of England we were fortunate to have a build on high ground!

Concrete base completed on day one and we were ready to start the build.

50mm Celotex or Xtratherm in the roof and floor.

Underfloor heating using the foil mat system works out around 150 watts per square metre.

Therefore about 1.5kw for an average sized cabin which is about the size of a typical wall mounted electric heater.

Ceilings finished in plasterboard ready for painting.

The cabin complete ready for painting.

2.5m high log cabin - Berwick Garden Studio

Installed in the Summer of 2012 this is one of our 2.5m ridge height log cabins, the Berwick log cabin

The advantage of 2.5m high cabins is that they can be placed close to a boundary often without the need for planning. Different rules apply in areas of outstanding natural beauty or national parks therefore it is always wise to check with your local council before building your cabin.

Measuring approximately 4m x 3m this is a good sized cabin and in this case is being used as the base for a growing enterprise - www.whatkatiedidnext.co.uk

This cabin includes roof and floor insulation, underfloor heating, guttering and painting in an off white colour from the Cuprinol Shades range - Pale Jasmine

All kitted out ready to go!

Twin walled garden office for 2013

Some what neglected the blog in 2013 with most installs now posted on our Facebook fan page now but we will endeavour to post more updates on here this year. A new years resolution which hopefully will last!

The exciting news this year is we have launched some great new cabins for 2013 including our first twin walled garden office based on the Cheltenham log cabin.

Designed to provide a 100mm cavity the Gloucester Garden office features two 44mm walls with a 100mm cavity.

The cavity is designed to be filled with 70mm Celotex leaving a partial cavity of 30mm.

This will bring the walls of this model up close to u-values expected for building regulations in residential properties and will make a very well insulated garden office.

This year we plan to plan to launch a greater range of twin-walled log cabins to meet building regulations so keep your eyes peeled for further updates in the near future.

Based on the very popular Cheltenham log cabin perhaps this will be the best seller for 2013??
