Alex log cabin - Newport Pagnell Near Milton Keynes

Continuing our install updates from Spring 2014 with this well documented build of the Alex log cabin in Newport Pagnell.

Sorting and stacking the 44mm logs made from solid spruce with double tongue and groove

Pressure treated floor bearers laid with damp proof course on top and the build can begin.

Quickly the cabin walls are up with double glazed window fitted.

Insulated ceilings using qaulity polyurethane insulation which is moisture resistance and has a really good U-value.

Roof shingles on and you can see the overhang to allow water to run into a gutter.

Scaffolding (a must for next weeks job) and a good steps or ladders make the roofing job safer and easier.

Underfloor heating kit ready to be fitted with laminate flooring to finish.

The last piece of laminate ready to go in place.

Garage consumer unit, double sockets and programmer for the underfloor heating.

Baruda 53 log cabin - Garden office near Uttoxeter

Carrying on our install updates from 2014 here is the Baruda 53 log cabin installed near Uttoxeter in April 2014.

Concrete pad mixed on site.

Cabin walls going up on day two.

Insulated with 40mm celotex between the pressure treated (70 x 45mm) floor bearers.

The completed garden office with insulation, electrics, underfloor heating and laminate flooring.

Electrics to include Garage consumer unit, double sockets in each corner, lighting and touch screen controller for the underfloor heating.

Model Makers - Craft Room in the Garden

Another install from early in 2014 our customer, a keen model railway enthusiast, was looking for a room to store and build his railway kit. The plan was to have a station inside the cabin with the track opening out of the side window and running round the garden!

Day one is base preparation and mixing a 100mm thick layer of concrete.

Day two and the walls are quickly up to head height.

Roof on and rectangular style black bitumen roof shingles are fitted.

Inside roof and floor are insulated with 50mm Celotex.

Underfloor heating kit being fitted which will make the model workshop very comfortable indeed.

All finished and ready for the railway track and station to be installed!

Cheltenham Garden Office with Decking - Bury St Edmunds

Back in February 2014 we installed our very popular Cheltenham log cabin.

Starting with the 100mm thick concrete pad the ground was also prepared for a timber deck in front of the cabin.

After transferring the cabin to the back garden the log parts are sorted into their various sizes.

As the walls go up the double glazed windows complete with frame can be slotted onto the walls.

Soon up to roof height preparation can be made for the timber deck.

Battening between the roof joists leaves space to fit 50mm of Celotex before fitting the plasterboard ceiling.

Canopy lights add a touch of class to the look of the cabin.

Guttering ensures rainwater does not hot the ground and bounce back up onto the cabin walls.

Decking trimmed and finished completes the stylish look f this garden room.

Install Updates - Garden Offices galore!

Having neglected blogging for quite some time we thought we had better add some of our installs from the past two years!

So here goes...

Early in 2014 we had a bespoke cabin to install roughly based on the Morecambe log cabin or the Wrexham garden office.

Assembled in Westbury this was quite a local job for us being close to Trowbridge, Devizes & Warminster.


A 4 inch or 100mm is prepared inside a 4 x 2 pressure treated former.

A very useful garden office with side store.

Two coats of Sadolin One Coat adds a good layer of protection which should not need repainting for up to 8 years.
